Optimist and Topper Open

Results

The event started with a coaching session on the Friday evening with the
Midland Optimist Team coaches and then a barbeque for the parents and sailors.

On Saturday the wind was 10 knots from the West but was shifting all day. There were 31 Optimists and 11 Toppers. It was great to have a Regatta Optimist fleet of 10 sailors. The racing was close right up to the end. There were 4 races with 2 before and 2 after lunch. Ben Brown won the first, Andy Kilburn the second, Martin Wrigley the third and Andy Kilburn the fourth. The final result was :
 
1st Andy Kilburn on 6 pts
2nd Martin Wrigley on 7 pts
3rd Daniel Whitley on 8 pts

The Toppers were:
1st Christopher Berry on 3pts
2nd Callum Healey on 7 pts
3rd Edward Connelon on 8 pts

The Optimist Regatta fleet was:
1st Sam Smith on 3 pts
2nd Hannah Rhodes on 7 pts
3rd Olivia Kennington on 10 pts

We hope to see all of the competitors and more next year.
