Learn to sail at Staunton Harold Sailing Club

Youth Training

If you would like to use the holidays to learn a new skill then read on. From 1st to 4th August Staunton Harold Sailing Club will be running a Junior RYA accredited Stage 1 and 2 sailing course.

The course is very much geared to individual progress and ability, with the emphasis on having fun whilst you learn. After the basics of sailing have been established, a few games and exercises on the water will be organised for you. You will be sailing in Optimist and Topper dinghies which are ideally suited for novice junior sailors.

And for those juniors who have already completed their Stage 1 & 2 and wish to develop their sailing skills further there is the added opportunity to take the RYA Stage 3 course which offers some more advanced training including basic and improvers racing as well as (for older juniors) the chance to experience spinnakers.

Buoyancy aids are provided. Sensible 'old' clothes should be worn whilst sailing, and please bring a change of clothes. Alternatively, the Sailing School has a range of appropriate wet-suits and spray-tops available. An ability to swim 25 metres is a prerequisite of the course.

£125 for 4 day course

£185 for 4 day course
