18th Birthday Open Meeting

To celebrate their 18th birthdays Matt Foskett and Hannah Jones
held a 420 Open Regatta on Saturday October 1st. The weather was
perfect and 14 boats enjoyed 5 fun races in blue sky an 28 degrees.
Not bad for October!
Ice creams were given out at the windward mark and water bombs
at the finish! Racing in the 5-10kt Southerly included some
longer windward/leeward courses, some round the cans with the Club
racing and some short sprint races.
Congratulations to Caroline Croft and Henriette Brand who won
the event and Hannah who finished 2nd and Matt 4th. Many thanks to
the 26 other competitors (who Matt and Hannah race and train with
regularly) for travelling, some as far as the South coast.
Celebrations continued after racing as many more guests arrived
and enjoyed a Hog Roast followed by a disco.
Many thanks to all those who helped make the event such a
success.
