Fitting Out Supper 2012
We can now consider that the sailing season has properly
started following the Fitting-Out Supper and Prize-giving on
Saturday. It was fantastic to see a packed room (and Grahame not
having had to twist too many arms to sell the tickets), and how
smart it looked. This was particularly creditable as we'd had
over 100 sailing instructors enjoying an RYA coaching day just a
few hours earlier - so thanks to all the volunteers who did such a
great job of tidying up after them. Once again Lol and his
helpers dished up an excellent meal, finished off with Becky's
famous puddings.
It was also a pleasure that so many of the prize winners were
present to collect their cups and glasses - although John Robinson
should have planned ahead an brought a wheelbarrow along to take
all his away... Even the weather seemed to be celebrating,
with sun and a gentle breeze on the Sunday for the first races of
the Spring series. So for those who haven't been down to the
club yet, time to dust off the sailing gear and head for the
water!
