Staunton Sailor wins prize at Tiger Trophy

Already 2011 has got off to a fantastic start for our club
racers and we are only into the 1st week of Feb. Following on from
our youngsters great results at the 420 worlds, I have news of a
simply magnificent result at the Tiger Trophy this weekend at
Rutland. At what must have been a pretty hairy running of this
famous Trophy our very own Tim Needham, crewing for Andy Smith, in
their 505 won the event, unbeaten in the races sailed, in front of
an entry of 118 boats. And if that wasn't enough, Pete Gray and
Rich Pepperdine managed a terrific 9th in their Scorpion.
Tim and Andy now share a day's VIP hospitality racing the Team
Pindar Extreme 40 during Cowes week later this year, and because
they won all the races sailed they take home a £1000 special prize
that has never been won before.
