Enterprise

Two-person, non-trapeze, non-spinnaker boat. Crew weight of 120-140Kg (18 to 22 stone).

Designed in 1956 and raced through-out the UK. Second hand boats can be found anywhere from £100 to £7500 - although the boats below about £750 may need quite a bit of tender love and care to keep them going! Wood or fibreglass.

A good sail area and underwater shape makes the boat very popular at inland sailing clubs, and its a class that most people have sailed in at some stage in their sailing career. Great for getting started in sailing, right through to the Endeavour Trophy winner (Dinghy Champion of Champions), who regularly sails one.

Staunton Harold has an active Enterprise fleet which regularly race on Wednesday evening, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The club have a fleet of approximately 16 boats and is not uncommon to see half this number on the water. Club members attend local open meetings and have ventured to National Championships.
