The RS200 is ideally suited to sailing the shifty winds at
Staunton Harold Sailing Club. She is a fantastic two person
non-trapeze high performance asymmetric racing dinghy, aimed at
crew weights 17 to 23 stone. The RS200 provides fun and excitement
for helm and crew of all ages.
At Staunton Harold we race in the fast handicap fleet which
makes for good racing against the Fireballs in the spring and
frostbite series. We have our own racing series during the summer
and autumn months, windward leeward courses will be set if the
prevailing weather conditions allow, making a welcome change from
'going round the cans'.
The RS200 is not the cheapest boat to buy but when you consider
the strong market for used boats, good build quality and boat
layout, depreciation is minimal, which makes overall ownership
costs very economical.
The RS class association website provides comprehensive
information about the 200, including detailed tuning/rigging
guides, future events and results, coaching days and RS200's for
sale.
Staunton Harold RS 200 Fleet are keen to welcome and encourage
new RS200 members, please contact for more information.
Experience a combination of nature's most challenging elements
with the RS200 asymmetric sailboat.
Fleet News
The RS200 fleet continues to grow, we had several training
sessions last year and our try out a RS200 evenings were a great
success.
Those keen to get sailing early will be pleased to note we have
our Open on Saturday 14th April 2012.
This is the first meeting of the RS Northern Tour and hopefully
we will be blessed with good wind and not too many April
showers.
To help get the season off to a quick start, I am planning to
run some training sessions over the Easter weekend Saturday 7th in
the afternoon, Sunday 8th April in the morning and Monday 9th in
the afternoon. If you would like to join in please let me know.
To support the Friday night club, I am planning to run two
training/try out a RS200 evenings on the 1st June and 24th August
2012.
